The artist Stoyan Tsanev is one of the most interesting and modern Bulgarian artists. World-famous, avant-garde, aesthetically irresistible. Enigma, dance and music of the colors and signs, signify his creativity.
Born in the city of Burgas, Bulgaria in 1946, he graduated from high school in his hometown and from the Polish Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in 1973 with a prize from the Ministry of Culture of Poland.
In his artistic life, Stoyan Tsanev participated in more than 120 exhibitions, biennales and salons and has over 15 Bulgarian and foreign awards for his work. He is included in the London edition of The Macmillan Encyclopedia of Art and The Japanese Encyclopedia of World Graphics.
Stoyan Tsanev's paintings are exhibited in famous galleries, museums and collections such as The National Fine Arts Fund in Paris, The National Library in Paris, The Museum of Modern Art, Delhi, India, The National Art Gallery, Prague, The Museum of Modern Art, Frederikstad, Norway, The Pushkin Museum for Fine Art, Moscow, The Congress Library, Washington, USA, The Museum of Modern Graphics, Cairo, Egypt, The National Art Gallery, Oslo, Norway, The Luxemburg Bank, The Art Dialog Collection, Paris and others.

Remaining one of the greatest contemporary graphic artists ouf our time, Stoyan Tsanev passed away on the 5th of February 2019 in his home town.
