Artwork Description

René Portocarrero and his taste for the bright colours of the Cuban Carnival. From an early age René Portocarrero showed his talent for painting. Between four and thirteen years he lived in a house near the Paseo del Prado (Prado Walking Path), where the traditional carnival festivities were held and incessantly painted figures and scenes form the Cuban Carnival, with his portfolio enriching the art scene of the 20th century and becoming one of the legends of the Cuban and Global artistic history.
