Massimo Vitali is known for his color photographs of beaches, pools and leisure scenarios, which are often taken from distant angles. In his photographs, he combines traditional landscape painting with figural aspects of art. He studied photography at the London College of Printing in the 1960s. He began his photojournalistic career in the 1970s with various European magazines. In the 1980s, he began cinematography for film and television and later devoted himself to photography for purely artistic purposes.
