Original title of the artwork: Magia Antigua / Antigua Magic
Finding this place in the Andes’ cloud forests was extraordinary. The trees, as cathedrals built to preserve the sacredness of life, speak of years of vegetal intelligence constructing the basics of life. Capturing the misty air in a watery light gave me a profound satisfaction. Oils on linen gave me the possibility of gentle “sfumature” so the theatrical scenery of a changing light could be related within its own magic - Jorge Cavelier.
