The Soul of the Darkness by dieHolasek

Artwork Description

“This artist is creating works inclusive of form and content, which are taking shape through emotion, humour and spontaneity and are moving between abstraction, hidden narration and pointed representationalism. Holasek’s paintings are mostly structured pastosely. They rarely come to life by preordination but their haptic quality and figurative statement is generated mostly by the immediate creative process. Her imagery is characterised by heterogeneously turbulent colour spaces joined at times dialogically with additional written elements or bon mots. Her paintings are expressed through overlapping shades of colour giving rise to manifold associations and guiding the eyes from the surface right into the inner space of the picture. With palette knives, brushes or directly with her fingers the artist is creating structures into which the spectators can thoughtfully dive.” - Mag Knack, art historian
