Original title of the artwork: Alla ricerca del Tempo Perduto 10 / In search of Lost Time 10

"The work is entitled Alla Ricerca del Tempo Perduto 10 and is part of a cy-cle of works all with the same title just to highlight that it is a work in pro-gress on the concept of Time and Memory that began in 2010 and still con-tinues. The title deliberately refers to the homonymous work of Marcel Proust precisely for the themes treated such as: the memory, childhood, memory as the only salvation, the re-enactment of the past and last but not least the ambition to understand what time is constituted in such a way as to capture its course and then arrive at the discovery of Lost Time! Photography is here exploited by the Artist as the only documentation of time that flows and translates into images what is the evocative power of memory, in its exclusive role of ‘telling’ reality. Writing, like art in general, has the task of overcoming the vision of the world whereby the things that are experi-enced in the present are fixed and immutable. On the contrary, through sudden flashes of memory, passages from the past, return to claim their fundamental role in the construction of the present. The artist in the rela-tionship between the past and the present, can thus become aware of the evolution and stratifications not only of his own personality but of the whole community." - Oriella Montin
